We are an inner city charter school with a high poverty rate and an ethnically diverse population. Majority of students qualify for free or reduced lunches. My students are an aspiring group that strives to not only better themselves but also their community.
Our school prepares students for college in an academically challenging, arts-integrated environment.
My students love to showcase their personalities through their art. They are passionate and expressive, and display every thing that I love about teaching. Graphic Design gives them the opportunity to express their creativity while learning programs they can apply to future career.
My Project
In my classroom I currently use a projector on a white wall to demonstrate Photoshop and Illustrator editing techniques to my students. The projector is older than I am and it's definition and color rendition are exceptionally poor. This makes it difficult for my students to see what I am doing on screen.
This new television will provide a clearer and sharper picture and better color rendition for my students to watch how to do certain techniques.
This will be especially helpful for demonstrating illustration techniques.
This tv will also be brighter than the projector too, which will make it easier for them to see and follow along.
