This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Every child has a different learning style and pace. "Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but capable of succeeding"
- Robert John Meehan
Author Robert John Meehan could not have better quoted my thoughts and feelings about children all over the world.
My students, in particular, are quite exceptional in many ways. As their teacher, I'm proud to have the opportunity to embrace their differences, enrich their learning, and comfort their spirits.
My students are courageous, bold, fierce and eager to make their marks. "Exceptional as They Come!"
When you donate to our class, you donate to the future of my students and their learning. You provide for them opportunities and possibilities that enhance their educational experience. In all honesty, I'm pretty sure it feels good to donate and help passionate little ones.
I believe and know my students are more than deserving, and donating helps bridge the achievement gap just a bit closer, which in return promotes a promising future. Every little count.
So when you give to us, you help us, when you help us, you help their future when you help their future you help our future.
So for that, we say thank you!
My Project
My students need books that represent a variety of cultures so that they may have a better understanding of the world around them and see books that represent them too!
Many of my students enjoy the art of reading and the idea of being able to become lost in a book.
My exceptional students at times find it to be quite difficult to find great books that represent themselves. I believe representation matters and is necessary when learning about one's own culture as well as others.
Its' quite easy to get lost and removed from the world when you have no idea about the world around you, and the celebrated differences of people around you too. I believe knowing someone's background, history, culture, and way of life creates a conscious and mindful human being.
Teaching my kids through culturally print-rich books not only sparks within them a greater interest a joy for reading, but these books also teach them compassion, empathy, and equity.
Your donation will contribute to an in-classroom library that embraces and welcomes all cultures, families, and much more.
