Help me give my students an ipad so they can have a fun and interactive way to access the core curriculum, as well as enhance their social/emotional learning.
I have 13 amazing students in my Inclusion Program, ranging from TK-5th grade. All of my students have IEP's and they spend majority of their day in the general education classroom with support of an Inclusion aide. Some of my students receive extra support from me and spend a portion of their day in the Inclusion room. In addition to working on core academics (e.g. reading, writing, and math), we often work on social skills and identifying/regulating our emotions. Although all of my students have their own strengths, challenges, and personalities, they all have one thing in common....they love to learn!
My Project
My students love hands-on learning and technology. My students range in ages (5 years old-10 years old) and have a variety of disabilities. Having an iPad in our Inclusion Room will allow my students to practice reading, writing, and math in a fun and interactive way. It would also allow me to reach the diverse learning needs of my students. In addition, my students will also be able to access specific apps which focus on teaching social skills and social/emotional regulation. The camera feature will also allow me to use video modeling as an additional tool to support my students.
