My Students
I teach the third grade Special Education Autism Core Program at our school. We are a Title I school, meaning that more than three-quarters of the students in our school come from low‑income households. Besides autism, some of my students also have anxiety, ADHD and specific learning disabilities. However, despite their disabilities, they always come to school with smiles on their faces.
My students' smiles bring joy to my life, and they make my days more enjoyable.
They work hard and follow the Core Curriculum at the same pace as the general education students. This workload is sometimes difficult for them, and it requires me to constantly think of ways to help them stay focused and engaged so that they can be successful in the classroom. My students love to learn, and I always encourage them to try their best.
My Project
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! I'd like to give my students a special welcome to start the new school year, 2019-2020. Next school year, I will embark into a new adventure as the RSP (resource specialist program) teacher!
I'd like to give my students a "cool" welcome by having an ice cream sundae celebration.
I want them to feel loved and appreciated from day one! Having a strong, loving, positive relationship in the classroom sets the stage for an environment where a lot of learning can take place. The cups and spoons would be used to serve the delicious treat. The cookies and candy will be used as toppings for the ice cream! Thank you for helping start off a great year!
