Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a great English Language Learner student population and resources are very limited in our school. My students are English Language learning who come from low-income homes where the use of technology is limited to their parents' phones or simply there is no interaction with technology. The use of technology can better help them learn the language. Working in a classroom filled with 29 students limits the ability to meet all of them. Technology is such a wonderful resource for students to explore and continue learning! While working with small groups, I feel students would benefit from interacting with a peer on an iPad reading or doing math.
My Project
A great majority of my students are English Language Learners and come from homes with limited or no access to technology. Their faces light up when you mention the use of technology during a lesson. An iPad would allow me to continue inspiring my students to learn through multiple ways, hands on and using technology in small stations. This would also allow me as an educator to reach all my students while small groups spend time with an iPad listening to the language, reading books, solving math problems and learning how to write.
Through Literacy games, stations my students will continue to learn and providing them with the opportunity to use an iPad, they will shine and be motivated to continue learning.
Reading is a challenge for many students, WE would love to have access to an iPad in our room to continue learning.
