Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach a smart group of first grade students. Many of my students are learning how to read. Some are fine readers already, while a few are struggling. There is one area where all the children need more practice. That area is comprehension. As adults we know that reading means nothing without comprehension. Young children don't often get the connection between reading and understanding what they have just read. You can help me and my students so much. I need tools to help me reinforce comprehension. The children need lots of practice learning how to self-check if they are comprehending during and after reading. Your contribution will be a gift that will benefit these children today and for the rest of their lives. Thank you for your support.
