Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a child, do you remember reciting the Pledge of Allegiance? My students recite the pledge daily. I want them to learn why we fly the flag and its importance.

My students represent countries from around the world.

Regardless of the country of birth, the students live, dream and are educated under the flag of the United States of America and the state flag of Georgia. My students see tattered flags when they enter the building, I want to change this by flying new, crisp flags at the beginning of this school year. I will teach them how raise, lower, fold, retire and respect the flag for its symbolic meaning.

My Project

In a school so diverse, I want my students to learn the meaning of the flag of the United States and Georgia. I want them to understand the flag flying high represents opportunity. The opportunity to reach for dreams, both big and small. Opportunities that are waiting for each of them.

My project is important because the United State of America flag represents freedom.

Freedom to receive a quality education, freedom to pursue unlimited dreams, and freedom to be the best student that they can be.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
