This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work as an alumni, with energetic and enthusiastic kindergarten students in a K-5, Title 1 school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunches in an urban school district. Many of my students did not go to preschool before coming to kindergarten and lack basic school readiness skills. I pads would help make learning meaningful and engaging! When this project is funded, my students will reach higher levels of engagement because their learning will be personalized and interactive using this motivating technology!
Through day to day experiences my students come to really know the school motto: "If I believe it, I can achieve it."
Kindergartners in today's fast paced, technology driven, world must have access to the technologies that motivate them within the classroom, to instantly connect to their new learning! Technology is just the way that students can feel successful and responsible for their own learning instantly!
My Project
When this project is funded, my students will reach higher levels of engagement because their learning will be personalized and interactive using this motivating technology of I Pads!
I want my students to be able to access highly engaging online texts, games, and literacy and math activities to close the gap between the number of words they hear per day and their peers!
Using iPads, students will be able to access online reading texts and activities in centers and to supplement instruction creating a learning environment where students are fully engaged and motivated to learn! I will use the data from their daily practice to guide my instruction and interventions in the classroom. By students having reliable access to books being read to them and other engaging literacy and math activities, the gap between my low income students and their peers for words heard per day and literacy skills they possess will close. I want my students to have access to the best resources to help them be successful!
