My students need a "Fridge Phonics Learning Aid Kit" along with AA batteries and AAA batteries to run the equipment.

We are a Special Needs Pre-Kindergarten class in a rural, high poverty area. Our students are struggling with medical issues, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome and developmental delays.

These 3- and 4-year olds are away from home and family for the first time. In addition, over half of this class is learning English as a second language. We are beginning to learn the alphabet and letter sounds. We also learn from the different environmental sounds that animals make. Interactive manipulatives are one of the most effective ways in which we learn.

The "Fridge Phonics Learning Aid Kit" (a Leap Frog product) and batteries to run the equipment would allow us to interchange letters to hear their sounds and begin to form words. The farm component reinforces animal sounds and helps develop the early math concept of matching (like putting together both halves of the purple cow to hear it moo).
