I need to attend the Teach Your Heart Out conference so that I can bring more hands-on, interactive learning activities into my classroom to meet the needs of my students.
My students are creative, smart, athletic, caring and full of energy. They range in grades from Transitional kinder to 5th grade. My students spend most of the their school day in the general education classroom and spend a portion of their day working in a small group or one to one with me. All of my students receive special education services. My students range in ability and needs. Many of my students have ADHD or have been classified as having a specific learning disability. I have students with dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia.
My students don't learn the same way their typical peers do.
They require instruction that is more hands on and multi-sensory. My students often need instruction that has been broken down and taught at a slower rate. Unlike typical classrooms I keep my students from year to year and have had many of them for almost 3 years. I am able to develop a bond with my students and their families.
My Project
The Teach Your Heart Out Conferences will allow me to learn from master teachers. As I head into my fifth year of teaching I am eager to reengage and continue my professional development through attending this conference. This is a conference that brings together educators who are highly motivated to be the best teachers they can be.
This is an innovative, one-of a kind conference created by teachers who have a passion for the profession.
They provide educational techniques and strategies that are cutting edge and research based. Session include Incorporating Art in the Classroom, School Culture, Starting off the School Year Right for SPED, Bringing Back Picture Books, Classroom Management and Growth Mindset.
