My classroom is student-centered and highly creative. On a typical day, you might find us participating in collaborative learning where we are often sharing talents the students had no idea they had! Singing, dancing, and art integrated lessons are the norm here!
In our low-income community, it is much easier to turn on the TV and zone out than to find a creative outlet.
Things such as cameras are luxuries. My students come from diverse backgrounds and many are recipients of free and reduced meals. As a new teacher, I have begged and borrowed to fill my classroom with anything I can use to spark excitement and imagination. It is my goal to provide imaginative avenues with which my students can explore the wonders of their world, from the safety of our classroom.

The course I will be taking will help me introduce my students to the exciting world of coding! The Computer Science Crash Course for Educators will help me obtain critical CS content knowledge and strengthen my coding skills in Python. Topics include Programming, Algorithms, Data, Networks and SO MUCH MORE!
