Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Kindergarten students are part of a wonderful Spanish Immersion program. Our school offers 90% Spanish and 10% English starting in Kindergarten. They are life long learners in a bilingual community. My students are full of excitement, confidence, and are hard workers. They are curious learners, ready to collaborate, and problem solve. Each of my students are unique and learn in their own way. I want my students to succeed in the classroom and build the foundation they need to be successful in the school years to come.
My Project
My students are unique in so many ways. They all have different learning styles and it is my job to be accommodating to meet their needs. Our classroom started using flexible seating since the beginning of the school year. This type of seating has changed my classroom environment in so many different ways! We would love to add comfy seats and scoop rockers to use during Math and Language Arts small group instruction. This would be an excellent addition to our library area, a space where the students work in groups throughout the day.
Flexible seating has a positive impact on students.
It allows them to get the wiggles out, while working at their own comfort. It also empowers students to be mindful of what helps them learn best!
