My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Many of my students come from homes where English is not the primary language. Others live in poverty.
I always strive to make my classroom environment a safe and inviting place for my students to learn.
I teach at a community school, where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite the challenges they face, my students come in every morning eager to learn. I truly believe school is the best part of my students day.
My Project
My students love to read! I am a first year teacher and I do not have a lot of books in my classroom. I go to local thrift stores to buy gently used books for my students. First grade is a great year to hook children into reading! I share my passion of reading everyday and I want to provide leveled books so all of my students can go to the bookshelf and choose a book to read! I chose this lakeshore set because it comes with book bins (organization) and I added additional "I Can Read" books! My firsties LOVE reading independently on our classroom stage. Please help me gift new books to my firsties!
