This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 24 curious and imaginative fourth graders in Weston, FL. Every day, I am lucky enough to see 24 smiling faces enter my classroom. My school's motto, "Imagination to Innovation" has our students excited and motivated to learn.

My students are welcome to talk and learn together.

They are encouraged to work cooperatively to think critically and problem solve. I continue to make changes in my classroom for the benefit of my students. My classroom has the power to excite kids and motivate them to learn... EXCEPT FOR THE FURNITURE.

My Project

So many children have trouble sitting for the rigorous state curriculum. By allowing kids some "wiggle room," they can better focus on the lessons and teacher. Hokki stools allow students to move slightly while safely seated. By balancing and moving on the stools, my kids will be more engaged and involved. Better seating will make a difference for so many of my kids, ones with special needs and those who just have extra energy.

The base of the stool allows for movement in all directions, which is critical for student development.

Movement increases well-being and encourages the physical and intellectual maturation process. These stools will definitely keep my students engaged, motivated, and excited to learn for hours! IT'S TIME TO TRANSFORM STATIONARY SITTING INTO A PHYSICAL ACTIVITY!
