Imagine yourself sitting down for hours trying to focus on a speaker? Do you move around? Can you sit still for a long period of time? As an adult, I know I can't. Now picture 23 very busy 3rd graders in an inclusion classroom. They love to move and it is difficult for them to sit still!
My students are some of the sweetest kids around!
I work at a school where 100% of my kids are Army dependents. Parents are found facing deployments, field time, or working 14 hour shifts just to come home and tuck their kids into bed. Many of my kids have been in 3 different schools already and they are only in 3rd grade!
We are a blended learning classroom while also being special education inclusion classroom. I love being able to see all my students work together regardless of their abilities! My students are at all different levels which makes it difficult sometimes to meet everyones needs.
My Project
I have asked for two stability ball chairs to substitute for chairs. I want students to be excited to come to school and not dread sitting in the same old hard chairs. Students will use the two stability ball chairs in a variety of settings throughout the day. I plan on incorporating these chairs into my small group table where I work with a few students at a time. I hope it will help increase their focus and bring a little fun to their learning. I am very excited that these chairs will help my current students now and future students to come!
Stability ball chairs have made a huge improvement in classrooms across America.
Many students have shown to be more focused and have a desire to learn. Studies have also shown that stability ball chairs help students increase their posture. I love my stability ball chair for my desk, and I know my students will too!
