My students come from a small community where poverty and drug abuse is profound. Most people in our community want to see some change in these problems, but it takes time. These kids are often left without anything to do and, most-likely, left alone. They end up on tablets or T.V. to keep themselves busy.
These kids are special, though.
We have an elementary school that cares so much for kids. We work hard to improve teaching strategies and the morale in the classroom. Our campus has about 250 kids.
Our town is a great place to grow up and grow a family. But, you have to be ready to withstand the evils that could pull you down. My goal as a teacher is to empower kids to be more than they are assumed!
My Project
I can assure you that I love my students and I love to see that light bulb moment, but there are so many times when those wiggles get the best of my students. They have to move or they can not focus!
My goal is to make learning fun and engaging!
I want my students to be able to move while they learn. I want them to know that they will have somewhere fun and comfortable to learn their school concepts.
Using a Wobble chair will be great for my ADHD kids who truly cannot stop moving. Having a bouncy balance ball chair for the student who moves while he listens, will keep discipline problems at bay. Giving my students who LOVE to read a special place, will be so motivating to get them to continue reading!
