My students need several math centers like games, puzzles, and at your seat centers to keep them moving ahead using their hands!

My Students

My students are in the middle! They have learned how to complete basic math skills, but they aren't at a level of mastery quite yet. They have used manipulatives since kindergarten and I would like to provide them with materials that help them practice grade level skills using their hands.

I teach in a small school on the outskirts of town.

My third grade students are preparing for the BIG state test and I need to provide them with as many ways as I can to practice the concepts they will face on the test. My students need the opportunity to learn through manipulatives because they are still concrete thinkers. They need to move it to understand it and master it.

My Project

I have a wide range of abilities in my classroom. At times when I have instructed students on a skill, some students finish faster than others. The students who finish quickly need something to do when they are done. I will use the math centers I am requesting to help students practice math skills once they are done with the current skill in a fun and engaging manner.

I believe that students in my class will increase their math skills if they are given the opportunity to learn using manipulatives they can move and change.

There are no wrong answers when you can quickly see a mistake and correct it, which lends itself to a non-threatening environment where students will take chances and grow! Only time will tell how far they go!
