My students need the Learniture Active Learning Stools and Bintiva Inflated Stability Wobble Cushions to give them the opportunity to move in safe ways around the room to complete their work.
Kids were not made to sit still all day. Kids also like to have choices about where they can sit and work in the classroom. I teach 28 students from diverse backgrounds. My students enjoy the choice to work around the classroom but with 28 standard student desks and chairs, there are limited options for working around the room.
Flexible seating gives kids more choices about where they want to work and lets them find the space that works best for them.
Most students do not go home and do their homework at a small desk with a small plastic chair. Why not be able to give them the option to work in a space that works better for them. They get to work at a table or other location that helps them feel more focused and meets their attention and movement needs.
My students need more choice about where they can comfortably work around the classroom. We have experimented with a few different seating and working options throughout the school year, but would like to add more of these options with the new year. This will help to give more students the opportunity to use the seating options.
My Project
We currently have seven Bintiva Inflatable Stability Wobble Cushions and the students love using them at any opportunity. With 28 students those wobble cushions go fast and many want to use them all the time. We have one of the Learniture Active Learning Stools and many students love to use it when it is not being used by another student.
With more seating options my students would have more opportunities to move and wiggle while learning.
Adding these wobble seats would give the students more choices for moving safely while learning than most standard classroom furniture safely allows. Please help us bring more of these flexible seating options into our classroom to help us all find a space that helps us learn our best.
