My Students
My students live in a rural area and come from a variety of backgrounds. Our small school has a lot of pride, and our students work hard. Because we are a smaller corporation, we do not have a lot of extra funds to buy resources for our students who desperately deserve new items at school!
All students should enjoy the learning process and be engaged while learning! I strive to keep resources new and exciting. I see 140 students in and out of my classroom each day, and I want to be able to provide each of them with book choices that excite them. I want students to love learning!
My Project
Let's be honest...engaging 6th graders in a book can be HARD! Students need access to a variety of genres and topics so that all students can find books that they are excited about reading. Reading should not be a passive, forced upon requirement. Reading should be exciting, fun, and adventurous!
I want my students to have new books that they are anxious to read and talk about with other students. I want books that are popular and engaging. My goal is for students to find a book that they love and cannot put down. It takes time and money to build a good library. With your support, you can help me get books into the hands of my students quickly!!!
