Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are extremely excited to visit my science lab because I provide them with a variety of hands on and online activities. We currently have six iPads and only two working chargers. The students will truly benefit from being able utilize all iPads at once as they collaborate in groups during a particular classroom lesson and during science lab time. My goal is to integrate technology and collaboration among my students on my daily lab activities, but most importantly promote 21st century well rounded learners. The students that I provide services to in the lab, are mostly low socioeconomic students with very limited background on extra curricular activities. My goal this year is to provide my kids with more opportunities to interact with each other as they collaborate in lab activities, and with technology in their homeroom classrooms when they borrow the iPads assigned to me by our district Science Lab department.
My Project
By donating the charging station to our project, you will help my students to be fully engaged and focused during our online lessons. My kids will ultimately increase their academic achievement and collaboration during group activities. Research based projects are expected from my students on a regular basis in our science lab. I assign home-projects to the students during the week to extend learning on a concept covered in the lab. The goal is to review vocabulary previously learned in class, but most importantly to get family involved in the process. A lot of the students I serve lack technology at home, so most of them do some research during the week in the science lab.
