My Students

My students are amazing, energetic, fun loving kids! They have a variety of skills and interests. They come from a diverse background. Some were born here and have never been very far outside of our county while others were born outside of the United States. Many students have come here as part of a military family.

Each one of my students requires a different level of love and care from me.

Some come from perfect little 2 parent homes while others are dealing with a much harder life than I can ever imagine. I am looking to provide them each with something different in their experience at school.

My Project

Over the years students have had less time to just move during the day whether by choice or by requirement. As a result they often squirm around or find other opportunities to get up and move that may cause them to miss out on what they are learning. I want to change that for my students!

It isn't always possible to make every lesson super interactive.

That can leave kids sitting for almost 6 hours a day. Sometimes you just have to stretch your legs. For some students a one minute stretch break isn't enough. I can't have them wandering the classroom constantly either because they will never get anything done. Having a high top table will allow students to stand and work at the same time. When they are done standing they can move back to their seat to continue learning.

Ultimately, I hope this will allow students to get the movement they crave and the focus they need.
