Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are energetic and love to learn. My classroom and our school provide a place of safety and place where all individuals are cared for. They need constant support and care to help in their academic and social-emotional growth. We are in a low income part of a large city and lean on a lot of people/places for support.

My students can engage and successfully learn by creating a hands-on environment with a focus on technology.

Allowing my students to use engineering and building skills will encourage ownership in their own learning. Their young brains become more willing to absorb information. The classroom environment becomes a great place to learn and stay engaged in every subject.

My Project

My students love to display their work for others to read, see, hear, and experience. Each day we use the chromebooks and online tools like SeeSaw and Flipgrid to post progress and learning examples on their personal digital portfolios. As students read or speak into their chromebook microphone, the sound tends to get muffled or lost in the background noise of our classroom.

With these headphones with in-cable microphones, students' voices would be heard clearly in their posts on their digital portfolios.

They would also be able to hear their classmate's posts more clearly through the higher-quality headphones. In addition to the clarity of audio input and output, students will have a sense of privacy while working to post their learning to SeeSaw and Flipgrid.
