My Students
My students are hard working and very energetic. They are creative and love to read! We are a year round school and I loop with my class which means I get to work with them for two years. Our school is Title I with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast, lunch, and snack.
"It's okay to be different" has been a positive motto for our class this year!
We were lucky to be in a culturally rich classroom where we can learn about diversity. Over half of my students are receiving services for special education and ESL. We spend a lot of time building our community and appreciating each other's differences.
My Project
Our district has adopted some fantastic reading and math programs to be used on iPads. We are incredibly fortunate to have a class set of iPads, however we do not have enough working headphones for each student in the class. It's very difficult to practice phonics programs without sound or at a volume that others around can hear!
We desperately need more headphones!
It's also much more sanitary to have a pair of headphones for each student for the year. This way students aren't having to share an item that gets placed over the head. It seems like such a little thing, but it will have a huge impact on our daily learning!
