I Hear Me!

My students need the sound telephones to help keep them focused on reading the books in their hands. Sound phones help students to hear sounds and articulate better during their reading time in class.

My Students

My students are my whole world. They amaze me each and every day. No matter our day, they are happy! We are a small, tight-knit school with a strong sense of community. Our school is family in every sense of the word. Many of our students' parents have moved here from deprived countries in hopes of a better life for their children. They value education and support their teachers to the best of their abilities. Many of my students are learning to speak English, as well as read and write English. They are my translators when I am meeting with their parents to inform them of school events. This is why they inspire me to work harder. They never quit, never give up, and always persevere.

My students make me want to be a better person, to appreciate the small things in life.

They take a bus ride to school each day, arrive to school with a smile and a hug. Even though they had to arise early, walk to a bus stop, and skip breakfast most days ... they are happy to see me. They deserve a good start to an even better education.

My Project

My kindergarten students are learning how to read independently. If given the right tools, the students will stay focused longer and persevere through even the hardest books!

The "sound phone" helps my little readers boost their phonemic awareness and reading fluency.

These simple tools also encourage my second language learners to practice speaking aloud more, as they love to talk into the phones.

The most important skill a kindergartener can learn is to READ! It is always my main focus as an early childhood educator and with the proper books and tools, all my students will be fluent readers in no time at all. They are hard workers and always strive to do their personal best.
