My Students

My students are emerging creative artists and inquisitive learners who come to my inspiration art studio to explore learning through critical problem solving, community interactions and self expression. They are eager to share their stories through creating art while exploring their inner vision.

My students are aspiring beginning artists who enter the art studio with excitement to create visual learning memories and engage in their creative development.

They struggle with English as a second language and have limited experiences in exploring the world around them through creating or experimenting with media and methods of art.

My school is in an economically depressed area nestled in a business district where the urban environment is stark and drab. Most of these young artists do not have creative expressive materials at home. The art classroom is often an environment of first experiences of wonder, and accepted self expression.

My Project

Reading is fundamental! Reading about all subjects helps engage students in learning. Part of learning about art, is learning about Great Artists! The series Getting to know the World's greatest artists is perfect for introducing biographies and artists in the art studio! Perfect for k-8 students.

Students will be engaging in reading, learning about artists who changed the world and being inspired by great masterpieces of art work!

Literacy is about reading, writing and creating from what you learned by reading. Reading about artists is exciting. Currently our students have NO biographies about artists. This series would be a perfect way to introduce artists, great masterpieces and have students excited about creating art in the style of a master artist.
