My Students
My students have brilliant minds and big goals! They attend a Title I school in the District of Columbia that serves 100% economically disadvantaged families. Most of my students are English Language Learners who are learning the content and English at the same time.
My students are invested in their education, love to read, and are growing as civic leaders in their communities.
My students care about each other and the environment and want to make the world a better place!
My Project
My students are in third grade and rotate to their core subject classes amongst three teachers. To help students get in the habit of reading for fun, I provide my students with a book they select from my library to read when they have down time throughout the day. Currently, I have provided students with a zip lock bag to help kids carry their books and headphones needed in all their classes. The bags are ripping and being replaced weekly.
These cinch sack backpacks will help my students by, "having their backs" with staying organized and providing support for carrying essential to each class.
