This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are part of a Cornerstone Program specifically for those with moderate to severe disabilities.

We are a life skills program which trains and educates students to become contributing members of the family, work place, and community.

Students have the opportunity to participate in various developmental activities in the following 5 domains: Vocational, Daily Living, Recreation/Leisure, Functional Academics, and Community.

All 8 of my students are nonverbal and 3 are wheelchair bound but they are eager to learn!

My Project

Having access to a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse will give my students in wheelchairs the ability to respond to participate in answering questions from online games and programs used in the classroom. Our current set up has keyboards attached to desks that are not tall enough to get the wheelchairs underneath them.

By having wireless keyboards and mice, staff will be able to bring these accessories to various students around the class and make interactive learning easily accessible for all.

The wireless mouse could be used to draw, make answer choices, or drag items from one side of the screen to the other.

Working on gross and fine motor skills will benefit all of my students and make technology fun for them.
