After completing my first year, I have learned so much from my students. Each one is unique and I have learned to embrace their diverse needs. Seeing each student reach milestones all year long makes me proud. This encourages me to apply and provide tools for them to excel and flourish in their own way. My goal is to continue developing and manipulating what I can for my students so they can thrive in their future with their heads held high!
My Project
You need to get away. You can't handle the people around you. Everything is too hard. You can't do it like everyone else. You feel dumb, angry, sad....you want to break out in tears or break something...you need somewhere to go, but where do you go?
I want to make a calming center for my students.
Items like the Himalayan Salt Stone, squeeze balls and other multiple Sensory items will help calm the students. The sandtimers will help keep the time in the calming area to certain limit so the student will know when it is time to come back to their task.
This will be a place in my classroom where they can get away for a few minutes to compose themselves before their emotions get out of their control.
