This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are between the ages of 11 and 13. I teach at an inner-city middle school in Florida where 90% of the students are on free or reduced-price lunch. They have very few opportunities to see that they can be agents of change in their homes, community, and neighborhood.
Students perform better when they know that they are part of a team working towards the same goal.
It is important for them recognize their roles as change agents in the classroom as well as the world.
My Project
We cannot afford to have every classroom decked out with recordex or the latest promethean board so all I have is a projector.
My students have difficulty seeing the board because my projector cart is always in the way, so I need to mount my projector for better view of the board.
The students are always complaining that they cannot see the board, there are head shadows blocking the screen and desk arrangements are impossible. Having the projector mounted on the way will allow more movement in the classroom and students able to interact with the board rather than than shadows.
