I teach 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts at Denham Springs Junior High School in Denham Springs, Louisiana. When I use my projector (which is connected to my computer), I must use a wall in my classroom to project the image. However, my walls are not white or a light color. My walls are blue and yellow (bright blue and yellow!). I have tried to use my white board to project, but it is too small, and the image is cut off or is distorted. I have tried to use the yellow wall. But that is hard to see because the yellow bleeds into the colors of the images, and this, too, distorts the images. Finally, I have tried to use the blue wall. Unfortunately, the images don't show up, and the colors in the images are all too dark. This problem is placing my students at a disadvantage. I have awesome presentations to go with my units, but we really can't see them well at all. My students who are visual learners (which is over half of my students) are having a difficult time seeing my presentations. It would be awesome if we could receive a wall screen for the projector. Then my students could see the true, intended colors of the computer images, as well as they could see the whole image without it being cut off (from the white board). My students enjoy learning through visual presentations, and I feel they are being slighted in this important aspect of learning. I still am teaching several displaced students from hurricane Katrina. Please consider surprising my students with a wall screen for our projector. Thank you!
