My students need headphones in order to hear their tutorials online. We are requesting 24 headphones to ensure personalized learning can happen easily and no student is left out because they can't afford to bring them.
My students are extremely gifted in digital arts and technology. With 7 different courses from Regular to Advanced Animation and from Java to AP Java, my students have a wide variety of interests and abilities and often move at extremely different paces. Because our school district is so small, these classes are often put in together, as is the case with my courses. These kids are all challenged to compete in regular state-wide UIL competitions, encouraging them to become experts in their field of learning.
We live in an extreme rural area, where most of the kids ride the bus for over an hour to get to or from school.
We have no cities within our district, and in fact, do not have any stop lights either. You may describe it as a "one-horse town" if you were an outsider. However, our kids feel extremely different. They are compelled to work hard and give it their all and they have the support of the entire community when they do give their best. Our school is a diamond in the rough and WE ARE ~ WILDCAT PRIDE!
My Project
This STEM classroom serves as a home base for the Animation Class, Programming, BIM and Audio Visual Communications.
The students in each class are divided into regular and advanced and are assigned learning opportunities specifically to develop their skills in the area in which they are learning... and this requires headphones.
Every day, students are viewing lessons online to provide learning and further understanding in the projects they are creating. Without headphones, the classroom becomes a chorus of competing explanations and how-to's that start to overlap and confuse the learner.
A set of classroom headphones would certainly solve this problem.
