Help me give my students a class set of headphones so that each student can focus when doing independent work! I have also included organizational tools to make sure we take care of our new supplies!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach an energetic group of fourth graders in the Atlanta area. Our school is classified as Title I, and most of the students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and hard working families. Oftentimes, it is hard for my students to come into school and leave their worries from the outside world at the door.
However, the students in my classroom are dreamers - both big and small.
They have ambitions, hopes, and dreams that they could easily achieve if only given the same opportunities. When talking to them about what they want to do when they grow up I hear "engineer," "veterinarian," "artist," "entrepreneur," "lawyer"...the list goes on. When asking who wants to go to college, 100% of their hands are raised. Anything you contribute to my classroom is greatly and endlessly appreciated and puts them one step closer to achieving their dreams. Thank you!
My Project
These headphones will be a massive help to my students! We are very lucky to have 1:1 technology, but a lot of the programs that we use require headphones. These programs are incredible resources for both math and reading and they keep our students engaged and help them reach their full potential.
Adding these headphones to our class would allow students to really focus and tune in to their personalized learning path!
They will also be incredibly helpful as some of our tests involve listening to parts of text, which would dramatically improve their ability to show what they know and shine.
