This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever tried reading, listening to a story, or solving math problems while in a noisy room? It can be very distracting and not the best environment in which to learn.
We are a classroom of amazing 1st graders eager to learn.
We are a classroom of students from low income families where English is not our primary language. We are a classroom of students that do not have technology in our homes. However, we are a bunch of kids lucky enough to go to a school with awesome technology to help us learn. Boy, can all of this technology get noisy!
My Project
Our class needs a set of earphones, so that each student can have their own to use while working on a laptop. Our students use different reading programs to listen to stories and to read on their own. This becomes difficult to do when the person sitting next to you is listening to a different story. The students play math games on their computers, but solving equations is tough when there is so much noise in the classroom.
These students deserve every opportunity to learn all they can.
As their teacher, I want to provide them with an environment conducive to their learning. With the donation of these earphones, students will be able to better focus on their activities and make our classroom a great place to learn! Thank you!
