My students need an IPad so that we can track their progress through Algebra 1 and provide real time feedback.

"There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living." - Nelson Mandela My students are making small changes so that they can see huge growth in their math skills.
My students are the world changers in the making.
They are huge dreams of changing their violent neighborhoods to peaceful prosperous places. They are full of energy, spending their extra time in my classroom, singing, decorating and investing in their education. Our public school is now state run, my students went through a dramatic change, with new teachers, a new builder, and a new system. They have come through this transformation with positive attitudes, more committed to their education than ever before.
My students have an extended school year, they are freshman in high school and with our extended year, our goal is to be ready for mid sophomore year math. With the IPad scholars will record exactly what they finish, their scores for each assignment, and will be able to see progress graphs. We will use the IPad to work with our smart boards to learn math through experiments, exploring the idea of mean and medians, through measuring heights. The IPad will be a place for students to leave their ideas, to build APs, and to create real time feedback.
My scholars need to see how their hard work increases their mastery of Algebra.
We work together to show how math is explaining the world around them. I want to track where my students are now, to where they need to be at the end of the year and show this with them. My class is transparent, students know where they are, what they need to improve on, and how far they need to grow in order to be ready to change the world after high school.
