This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students do not come from the wealthiest families. They do not have the best things. They are low-income, immigrant families, mainly from Spanish speaking countries. They work hard and care about education. We live in NY and go to an NYC public school. The try their best every day. The students all get free lunch and most of the supplies they have are the basics. Pencils, paper, book bags and the supplies needed for daily school life. I try to supply as much as I can to lift the burden of money from the families.

My Project

Everyone works differently. Everyone is comfortable in a different place. I want to give every one of my students "their spot" to work. Where they feel comfortable to do their work is where I want them to do their work. Right now I have bean bag chairs, a carpet and space in the room. I noticed this year that some of the students are standing and leaning down.

The standing height desk will give students another work area where they feel comfortable working.

It will allow students to achieve the highest success they can. With your help, students will fly higher than ever before.
