My Students

My school is a title one school located on the east side of our town. I have been at this school for over twenty-five years and I am now teaching children of children that I've had over the years. It is an honor that I have been a part of so many families for all of these years. The children that have passed through my room have been as unique as the stars in the sky. We have laughed, cried, and at times scratched our heads at some of the things that have occurred in our little room. Now that the children are returning to the classroom there are many challenges facing them. The last year and a half have cost my children a lot of growth that I am working to help them catch up.

My Project

I have been teaching long enough that I have moved from a chalkboard to a smartboard in my room. Helping the children to clearly see the lesson that I am presenting to them is a key element in making that instruction real and effective for them. I have an old document camera now that I recently discovered can no longer be updated and will therefore no longer work with the changing equipment in my classroom.

A new document camera will allow me to help my students see the materials being presented in a way that will help bring the learning experience alive.
