Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach in a very diverse community. We have been on austerity for a few years. It is very hard to get items that fit in with the natural ability of our students to learn via technology. The money just isn't available.

I teach HS science. I try to make my lessons from the students discovering the world around them. Many times we are in the lab or out in the field. I usually bring my laptop, camera, and camcorder to be able to teach to opportune moments.

Many times I find myself wishing I had a traveling color scanner so that I can bring home some documents I find and build lessons from them. My students would also be able to do this, extending their ability to research. Many of my students are on their way to college. I want them to have as many learning experiences that I can provide for them, using the technology that should be available to teachers and students.
