My students need a set of 33 colorful and interesting world atlases that will expose them to our exciting world and give them a base of knowledge about other countries!
Our sixth graders are about to embark on a world tour for the first time in their academic careers. After studying the USA for the first six years of their education, I am excited to see how their world view can blossom as they start to study the other cultures that form the world we live in today.
KIPP is a nation wide system of charter schools that has proven that it is not a matter of where you start with your education, it is where you finish!
Our scholars happily go to school longer hours and on Saturdays, they do more work and live up to higher behavior expectations. They show every day that they are willing to do what it takes to go to college. These students provide me with amazing inspiration every day and teaching them reminds me that our future is indeed bright!
My Project
I want the world to be available to my students every day! I want detailed descriptions of every country in the world at their fingertips and insightful looks at different cultures never more that an arms length away. With a class set of atlases, I can make sure that our scholars are always able to learn more about the history we are studying and the people that we are sharing the world with. By giving them this foundational knowledge of the "where" and the "who", we can start to unlock the "why" of what we are studying and get our scholars excited about where their education is taking them!
Our scholars consistently prove that they are down with doing what it takes to become successful in school, college and beyond.
By providing them with the materials that they need, you can be sure that your money will be well spent. These are the kinds of kids, in the kind of school, that will lead us into the future!
