Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Think back to the first time you used an iPad for the very first time. How excited were you to be using one of America's most common technology devices? Now imagine having an iPad in your classroom. How engaged and eager you would be everyday just so you could use it.
My students attend a Title One school that is predominately Hispanic.
The majority of my students are English Language Learners who benefit from technology activities in the classroom. Many of them come into school with little to no English, but that does not stop their determination to learn and succeed. The majority of my students do not have the technology that you and I have at home. I want to provide my students with the opportunity to use one of the most popular technology devices that exist, an iPad Mini. I not only want to provide my students with technology in the classroom but also a learning environment that reaches every student.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad Mini for our classroom. I currently have three computers for a class of 23 students. Every week we do several activities where students are working in small groups, partners, and individually to enhance their learning needs. Each group is differentiated based on what the students need. My goal is to have a center to be the iPad Mini. There are so many educational apps that can engage students even more into learning. Since education today is gearing teachers to using more technology in the classroom, this would help me significantly in doing so. Since many of my students do not have the opportunity to use iPads on a daily basis, it could also help to reinforce positive behavior in the classroom. Rewarding my students with something many children today own would be a life changing experience for my students.
Having an iPad in our classroom is so important because it will help engage the students even more in learning and also increase positive behavior.
My students would be thrilled to have an iPad Mini in our classroom! Please help our classroom!
