My students need a portable projector. Small groups can be pulled and technology can still be accessible to them with the use of this portable projector.
I work with the 5th/6th grade middle school team. I specifically work within a 5th-grade classroom that has students with Individual Education Plans who are taught in their general education classroom.
I am working on creating a space where all students LEARN TOGETHER!
I work in the Chicago Public School system. My school services over 500 students from many diverse backgrounds. 41% of the students come from low-income households, 10% of the students are diverse learners, and 11% have limited English. And we are all ONE COMMUNITY.
I have taught and lived in my school's neighborhood for over 15 years and I believe it is one of the greatest schools in the city.
My Project
Classrooms are no longer straight-row, whole group instruction. Instead, you will see partner work, small groups, inquiry projects, and student-centered lessons. Many times I am pulling an individual or small group of students who are learning in another part of the classroom or in the hallway. When I do this I have to leave the technology part of my lessons in the class.
Having a portable projector will allow the students to take their learning beyond the classroom.
They will have videos, class notes, math problems modeled for them, images, and they can even use the document camera I have to project their work.
