This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school eager to learn, excited to share, and ready to grow despite the difficulties they face with reading. I am interested in creating an environment for my students to excel. I provide experiences and opportunities in reading that stretch their abilities.

My students attend a PK-5 school in a large school district.

They are of average to very low socioeconomic backgrounds. The students I work with have many difficulties with reading, including dyslexia. They are smart, funny, inquisitive, and caring children. They face tough challenges but are a part of a strong school community.

My Project

My students have been very fortunate to have received Chromebooks and iPads from past DonorsChoose projects. We have used earbuds and headphones that have easily broke or the wires have tangled. It is a constant problem and sometimes we just give up and turn the volume down on the devices.

With the support of this project we can get wireless headphones that are durable and will last.

The headphones will allow students to stay engaged on their ear-reading books and not disturb others.

The professional resource book will give me more ideas for meeting the needs of my students through dynamic learning experiences and meaningful lessons.
