My Students

This year 18 boys and girls entered my first grade classroom full of energy. These young students have curious creative minds that can't wait to learn! In our classroom, we focus on building relationships and making our room feel like a second home. Every year my students surprise me with their academic and social growth!

The world of books is just opening up to first graders.

My students are so motivated to learn to read and write. There are so many books out their for my students to decode and read fluently. I just need more tools to help them be successful.

My Project

The whisper phones will help my students stay focused on what is being said as they reread both decodable and leveled texts to build fluency and comprehension. Using the phones will also help students read quietly and focus on their own reading and block out their classmates.

Whisper phones will keep the students excited as they reread to build their oral reading fluency!

The phones will be very helpful by helping children to hear themselves read. Currently, I only have 2 whisper phones in my classroom, and I need to choose 2 students daily to use the phones. With a classroom set, all of my students can work daily on improving their oral reading fluency!
