My first-grade students are absolutely amazing. They come from very diverse backgrounds and their learning needs are just as diverse. One thing is the same amongst all of them. They love, love, love to learn.
These children face their individual challenges with energy, determination and a spirit that is inspiring.
They are little superheroes. They see no limits to what they are capable of achieving, and I work every day to ensure that does not change. We challenge them to start where they are and grow.
My Project
My students are working hard on their reading skills. They are struggling in the area of fluency. I have developed a plan including an online reading program, and an intervention program where we will work with older students.
Being able to hear themselves while they are reading using the Toobaloos and reading along with the online program will aid the children in becoming more fluent readers.
The timers will be utilized while partner reading with older students, and the wipe off envelopes will allow us to use and reuse our story selections. Through these activities, it is my hope the kids will become successful.
