Learning by doing is what takes place in our multi intensive classroom. We start our day with Exploring Centers. I like our students to have an opportunity to work on the floor with their friends.
We have 10 multi intensive primary students with a variety of needs and learning styles.
All our students love being at school. We are included within the general education classrooms whenever possible. Our inner school population has a great need for exploring and developing our social behavior skills.
My Project
During our Exploring Centers we rotate between" Fine Motor, I Love to Read,Sensory and Building\ Sharing centers." These large blocks complete with community vehicles and people would allow our students a chance to be on the carpet, with some organized structure to develop bilateral skills, social skills and spacial skills while they have fun increasing their imaginative play.
I need to provide my students opportunities to learn on the floor and interact with their classmates.
Having the community helper dolls will reinforce who is in our community and their responsibilities. Large blocks are fun to count, copy patterns and learn 3 dimensional structures. Puzzles can be challenging for some of my students but there can be no wrong answers when building with blocks. Who knows what kind of roads and buildings they will be able to create!
