Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class consists of 12 wonderful students with special needs and incredible strengths! They are from an area where they may experience trauma and/or poverty, and I try to make sure our classroom is a warm and inviting place for each and every one of them. They work hard every day, no matter what their academic, social-emotional, and physical challenges are and they are always setting new goals and striving to be better! They are filled with energy, smiles, and growing minds! They are an amazing group of students, from all different backgrounds and cultures, and it is great to see what they bring into the classroom daily.
My Project
My students will benefit immensely from the books, dry erase markers and writing notebooks as they will use them daily to record their learning and reflect on their progress. They love jotting down their ideas and their discoveries and share them with others!
They need the sensory timers, breaking balls and visuals as they engage in learning activities in order to stay focused and on task.
They will use the headphones while learning through technology and listening to audible books and podcasts.
Last but not least, they will use the masks daily and the warm winter hats as the socialize and play during recess.
