Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My schools students come from low-income families. They are sweet, energetic, and eager to learn! These students come from a diverse background. Some of them are bilingual with English as a second language and all of them have diverse needs.
They love to learn and get excited about coming to school.
My school is a positive and energetic learning community with students who love school. I want to provide all of my students with materials that are best suited for their needs. Our public school bends over backwards to help our students as much as possible, but budget cuts have severely cut funding and I just can't afford to give them everything they need.
My Project
Earth Day is one of my favorite teaching days! I love all the different activities that I can do with my students. This year I want to use The Lorax to help teach some environmental lessons to my 2nd Graders. We will read the class set of The Lorax book. With most of my students being bilingual they will enjoy the spanish version of the book as well.
Dr Seuss makes learning fun!
I will use the books to help my students understand the importance of taking care of our earth. The pencils and stickers are going to help motivate them while they learn about Earth Day and the role they play in helping our earth!
