Help me give my students the opportunity to be healthy young individuals through conditioning and cross-training for multiple sports they may be interested in.
My students come from all areas of the world with many different backgrounds and stories to share. They work to develop relationships and connections that help them grow as learners and community members. In the upper elementary grades, students engage in choice learning opportunities to start their days and kick them off to a great day of learning. Track is one of the areas that they try hard and love to push themselves.
With nearly 80% of the students living in poverty or poverty like situations, any way we can encourage and support them in their school journey is one of huge importance.
There are over 30 languages spoken in our school and it is one filled diverse learners of many needs. Many of the students come to school hungry and tired. Other students come from crowded homes or the neighborhood shelters. Despite these challenges, they still work hard to learn and give their best in what they love.
My Project
I coach a team of students that love to be active but need the instruction and guidance to learn the proper skills related to health and fitness. These students always want to learn, to be active, and support each other. This project is about them learning to become self-confident and the skills needed to live a healthy lifestyle.
Help me build the self-confidence in students that will lead to a lifetime of success and healthy living.
Supporting this project will build the knowledge, skills, and drive to continue this journey throughout the rest of their lives. This project is more than just a track team it is about creating individuals that want to help and support others become healthy individuals.
