I need to go the the Ron Clark Academy for professional development training because I want to learn amazing ways to inspire and motivate my students to be their best!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are an exceptional group and I am dedicated to making sure that they have every possible advantage when trying to reach their learning potential. My students range in diagnoses from learning disabled, ADHD and emotionally disturbed.
Given their limitations, it is often difficult for my students to feel successful during the school day despite their enormous desire to do so.
They often display emotional outbursts due to their frustration at not being able to meet the academic demands that they face on a daily basis.
These kids are often over looked as smart-mouthed, hard-to-teach kids, but in reality they are just kids they need a special kind of connection. I love those sweet kids and I spend each year trying to reach as many as I can in a years time as possible.
I want to be the teacher that inspires, excites, and motivates the future generations! Teaching is my passion. I wake up excited to go to school! I want to spread that same passion to my students! I want to make a difference in the lives of the children I am blessed enough to work with, and more importantly I want them to believe that they can make a difference!
Going to the Ron Clark Academy for a two-day professional development training will have me learning from the best!
I will be learning strategies for effective classroom discipline and learn how to integrate music into the classroom. I will also learn how to increase student engagement through higher order questioning, how to teach creatively while achieving high standardized tests, how to implement games in the classroom that that promote student engagement.
I will also learn how to promote academic rigor while meeting the needs of all learners, and how to create a climate and culture that promotes student success. This project will cover the cost of registration for the 2-day professional development training at the Ron Clark Academy, lodging, and transportation.
I am sure I will return to my district pumped up and excited to share the amazing things I've learned with other educators in the area. When they bring these to their own classrooms, the impact will be endless! This project will reach beyond 100 students!
