I am not sure how clouds get formed. But the clouds know how to do it, and that is the important thing.
The cost of these weather-related science books from Barnes & Noble, including Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Weather Forecasting, and Magic School Bus inside a Hurricane, is $142, including shipping and <a target="new" href="http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm" onclick="g_openWindow('http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm', 300, 800, 'fulfillwindow');return false;">fulfillment</a>.
(The title of this essay is supposedly an actual student response to a test question.)
Science is an exciting and rewarding subject if taught properly. Because my school saves my students and I the horror of having to use dusty old text books we are free to experience Science in the way it was meant to be....by blowing up hard boiled eggs and then hiding the evidence and playing dumb when the principal comes to ask what that god awful smell is coming down the hallway.
As much fun as that is, it does get troublesome finding places for all of those egg bits and I'll tell ya I am just about sick of eating egg salad sandwiches everyday. So, I thought we might supplement our Science curriculum with a Wild and Woolly Weather Unit! (That's where the title of the essay comes in, in case you were wondering what eggs have to do with clouds.)
If you can find it in your heart to help us build a classroom set of resource books on the Weather we would be most thankful. I have chosen some wonderful titles from Barnes and Noble that have everything to do with Weather and nothing to do with eggs. Also, if you like egg sandwiches please stop by, our class is easy to find, just follow the stench.
THANK YOU!
