Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work with students in a low-income area, 100% free or reduced lunch. My students are being raised in single parent homes. They are often tasked with taking care of younger siblings or growing up without both biological parents. They are all unique and striving to be promoted even with all the barriers they face. Many students deal with a lot of emotional symptoms that include anger and a lack of coping skills. Our school now has a Social Emotional learning initiative and everything I do with a student will increase their emotional needs.

My Project

Please help us provide a hygiene kits for students.

Being clean and well presented is an important part of confidence for teenagers.

These hygiene items are basic necessities for students however they have to be dependent on others to provide these items for them. During this age period 11-14, students are experiencing changes in their body (puberty) and its crucial we receive these items to create a safe space to talk about personal hygiene with students.

Good hygiene is necessary for personal, health and psychological reasons. Keeping a good standard of hygiene helps prevents the development and spread of infection, illnesses and bad odor.

Students need extra support and with your help we can provide that for them.
